Great Job Academic Decathlon Team!

This past Sunday, March 1st, 9,300 students from 93 schools in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles gathered at Cal State Long Beach's Walter Pyramid for the 30th Annual Junior High Academic Decathlon. Each team participated in three events: Logic Quiz, Super Quiz, and Individual Subjects (eight in total). The subject matter is pre-determined and teams are given specific direction on items to study, including books, articles, and websites. The theme for this year was “Water”, and all content fell under that umbrella.

What a tremendous day for the St. Louise Vikings!!!! They did really well at Academic Decathlon. Last year - two of our students got individuals. About four or five years ago, there was one individual and a Logic team award. This year, the team took 19th place—making it in the top 20! They earned a team trophy and small individual ones and special seating next year. They also received a medal for Super Quiz, and three individuals took home medals too! Our final results were:
